JOURNALING:
I have always loved to read, so, when the “e-reader” became popular about 2007, I was intrigued. I loved the idea of a small, light-weight, hand-held device that would hold multiple books and could be added to at any time - even at midnight when brick & mortar bookstores were closed.
In 2009, at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Cleveland OH, I got my first look at an actual e-reader. I saw a man a few rows ahead of me pull out his device and start reading during one of the breaks. I immediately went over and talked with him about his e-reader. He was enthusiastic about his, so I “got the bug”, so to speak.
After researching brands, I selected a Kindle and got my first one a few months later. It was a “Kindle 2” and had a qwerty keyboard. I loved it. A few years later I bought a Kindle Fire - combination of e-reader AND tablet. I thought I’d love having both devices in one, but soon discovered it was too heavy to carry all the time. I went back to my Kindle.
In 2013, I heard about the Kindle Paperwhite. When I first saw it I knew it was exactly what I wanted - e-reader only, slim and lightweight. I’ve had mine now for a little over 5 years and carry it with me in my purse everywhere I go. I’ve affectionately named her “Fiona” and have dressed her up in a beautiful butterfly “skin”and keep her in a cute slip case with design that I created reading: “So many books; so little time.”

Very cute layout. I LOVE the printed background paper. Your butterfly "skin" is gorgeous and that cute fox case is darling. My only question is, "How do you like sharing your Kindle with a (colorful) bookworm?
Such a cute story! I'm with you. If my boys & I aren't reading, we're listening to an audio book in the car. I love Fiona's name & fancy outfit! Thank you so much for joining the storyteller challenge!
