Oh I relate to this so much! On our honeymoon we were checking out a park with a bunch of waterfalls in North Carolina. We had turned around to head back, but saw there was one more turnoff to see one last waterfall on the way back to the car. We thought it was a shortcut since on the map it looked a much shorter, turns out it was a horse trail! Uphill! And crazy hot! And like you didn't have waters or anything since we weren't expecting a long and strenuous hike. At least that waterfall was the best one! HA!
