Journaling Says:
Working with Colleagues that become friends is a rare blessing. This group of women were not only colleagues but friends for the first 18 years of my career. Not only did we experience a numerous changes, challenges and successes together as colleagues, but we were right there supporting and cheering each other on through the changes, challenges and successes of our personal lives too. These women were there to support me and my family as we grew our family, made a point of getting to know our children as schedules meant they kids ended up hanging out in my office, and supporting every possible fundraiser the children ever had. This group of friends rallied together to support me as our family dealt with medical issues, marital struggles and the adventures of raising children and the stresses that come with that. I would have been lost without their love and support throughout it all. I can only hope that I've been able to love and support them in the same ways. At the end of 2020, the majority of these wonderful friends retired. Two of us remained. It was soon discovered that we all missed our time together, therefore, the standing Lunch 1st Wednesday of the Month began. You attend as you are able and its good for the soul to catch up, continue to grow our friendships, see what's new in their lives and they LOVE to ask about the children and learning what's new. We may have started out as colleagues, but friendships quickly grew and will surely last a lifetime.
What a wonderful story of friendship! Having colleagues like that is truly a blessing!! Such a great photo!! Thanks so much for playing along with my challenge!
