This may stretch the requirements of the challenge a bit, but I really feel it DOES meet them. First, there are 3 "new" photos (taken just yesterday) during the basic time-frame of morning, noon, night. There is a 4th photo taken mid-morning, but the rules do not say ONLY 3 photos. As for "activity," that MAY be a problem, but I submit this WAS my main activity of the day - taking photos at specific times to memorialize the important weather event. (There are actually a total of 10 photos taken at 7 different times during the day - so it WAS the most important activity of the day.) "NO, you do not have to see yourself in the photos, doing an activity is fine."

January 12, 2019 1st real snow of the season
With the first big snowfall of the season predicted for today, my main activity was photographing the changing scenery.
8:48 AM Light snow has been falling ALL morning.
10:48 AM The grass is beginning to disappear.
12:17 PM Grass is “gone.”
6:06 PM Nightfall on the snowfall.
