@SeattleSheri - Thanks. I loved those art pieces and the story behind them. Could look at them endlessly so I did this layout. I knew I wanted all the paper strips to complement and not compete with the paintings. I was lucky to find these -- sometimes I just pick colors from the paintings and recolor papers and ribbons to go with them.
Oh, wow! For both the artwork and the paper strips behind it! You definitely chose wisely. They complement but don't compete. Where were these displayed?
@mcurtt - They were at Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas. It may have been a special exhibit -- not sure -- but it was when we were there in October 2018. I know its such a surprise to find this world-class museum there but if you have never been, it's definitely worth a trip -- lots of good stuff on permanent display and changing special exhibits on a somewhat regular schedule. When we were there in August 2018 we saw a Georgia O'Keefe one.
@Electra - yes it is incredible. I photograph art at museums that allow it and enjoy it again over and over sometimes in my scrapbook pages -- like a mini-visit back. Sometimes I think I could make an entire album of pieces I have enjoyed from museum visits and keep it out as a "coffee table" book to gaze at over and over. So many wonderful art pieces we have seen as we travel.
