Journaling: The town of Lake Placid has two nicknames: "Town of Murals” and “The Caladium Capital of the World”. For years we drove by the town (and their big signs claiming their titles) and always said that we should stop and visit “some day”. For a change “some day” actually came this time and we made the trip down specifically to visit the town. The murals were amazing and upon leaving the visitors center we were given a free caladium bulb. We had a great day and since that visit Florida has established a Florida Mural Trail which we intend to follow “some day”! 22 January 2015
