Journaling reads:
Three years ago, our son, Dylan, went on a special trip to Sri Lanka with his bride to be and her mother. In the course of their travels, they got to visit places seldom seen by tourists, when they visited the remote village where his future mother-in-law had grown up.
Imagine his excitement as they drove along a country road and a small group of wild elephants wandered across in front of their car. Quickly Dylan snapped a photo and sent it to us with a text message so that we could share this special moment.
Later, he bought three small wooden elephants to remind him (and us) of the encounter with these beautiful wild creatures. Keeping one elephant for himself, he sent one to my mother and one to us so that wherever we are in the world, we will be forever linked by these three identical souvenirs of his wonderful experience.
