I am so thrilled that this bird of prey comes to visit us quite a bit. It is very personal to me. My Mom was a bird watcher and past President of the Great South Bay Audobon Society. In addition, she also was the Editor of the chapter's bi-monthly newsletter, when we lived on Long Island. At the time Mom got sick, I was living in a "house" apartment in North Babylon, NY. The landlord, Hans, was a “Falconer” and owned a beautiful Peregrine Falcon. The day my Mom passed away, (1/25/1990), Hans’ falcon flew away, never to return. After Mom's wake, the funeral parlor gave us a bag containing the cards from the wake. In the bottom of the bag, under the folds of the bag, was a falcon feather. To this day, when I see the Peregrine Falcon visiting, I believe it as a wonderful sign from Mom.
Beautiful pictures and I love the way you scrapped them in the circle cutouts. We always know it's spring when we hear the geese return to the marsh and the golf course.
@Nemla Thank you! The Pergrine showed up again yesterday, around noon.. wonder if my Mom knows I bummed up my knee on Monday and have been hobbling around! It really is a beautiful Bird. The Great Blue Heron, now that my Dad is gone, is what his sign is. I just smile when both come around.
