This page is about the day I arrived at my Dad's after my step-mom passed away. We sat and talked with friends and family for a while. Then some good friends of theirs helped me convince my dad to go out for a bit. We went to dinner and even had some laughs. After dinner, we had to go to the nursing home to collect her things, but he didn't seem to be in any rush to get there. Instead, we sat in front of their court house and watched the Christmas light display. We sat there for about an hour, just talking and enjoying the moment. I guess he wasn't ready to go yet, and I guess he knew her things could wait.
