MOC7 January 30: Travel storytelling
journaling:
It took me almost twenty years to visit them
for the first time, but it was love at first sight
and it's never finished (and it will never end).
Fire, air, earth and water. These are the four elements
that have shaped the seven islands of volcanic origin that
form the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands (nicknamed "the islands
of the wind "for having been the abode of the god Aeolus): Lipari,
Vulcano, Salina, Panarea, Alicudi, Filicudi and Stromboli.
Each island is different from the other, each has its own
peculiarities and each in its own way offers landscapes
breathtaking and natural spectacles: pebble beaches
and rock, plateaus from which to admire the entire archipelago,
blue sea from which to discern wonderful fish and jellyfish, this and much more offer 'my' islands,
it is not surprising that since 2000 they have been the heritage of humanity Unesco.
My favorites (the ones I visited most often and
I know better) are Lipari and Vulcano.
The largest is Lipari, here are wonderful beaches,
and add a charming old Lipari that you explore
starting from his castle; while Vulcano is the island of the
well-being and sludge, with its famous black sand beaches
the thermal pool, which is fed continuously by springs
from which sulfur vapors emerge.
But what I love is to climb, climb, climb to enjoy the wonderful views that every island has to give away!
Every time is the same magic!
