that's part of why we went. DH is an engineer (and DS has done engineering studies in school) and the bottom floor has a gallery of the different testing and structural technical stuff and i figured they'd find it interesting (i was just there for the photo op's as you'd figure). And everything is designed to withstand earthquakes that they have on a very frequent basis, like there was a few last week and it's just part of everyday life. there's evacuation signs for that and tsunami's in a lot of locations which we noticed b/cos we have nothing like that here
Still....I know you'd feel up there! LOL Surprisingly, we have tsunami evacuation routes on the coast here in Oregon because when Japan has a big quake, we get flooded. It's still weird to see the signs on the roads over there.
 
Gorgeous layout and I love the shadow of the tower on the photo that really gives you an indication of height.
 
Such an amazing view and photos, but I don't think I would survive the elevator ride to get all the way up there! Love the way you have documented this with the photos and that sketch. The spire shadow in your main photo is so cool. Love this!
