INDEX-Day-4

I lost my precious Shih Tzu just before Thanksgiving in 2009. I tried to fill the void by volunteering at the local Humane Society, but that was a disaster. I found this little Yorkshire Terrier/Chinese Crested (I call her a "Crested Yorkie") on line at a nearby rescue group and my mother and I went to see her. It was love at first sight - FOR MY MOTHER. My first reaction (remember, I'd had flat-faced, curly tailed Shih Tzus for nearly 30 years) was, "My, what a big nose she has!" "And where's her tail?" (her tail had been docked WAY too short for the Yorkie breed). But, my mother looked like she was in heaven holding her, so we took her home. It wasn't until I was watching her eat a day or so later that I realized this "brown eyed puppy with a stump for a tail" had totally captured my heart. I told my mom, Pennie is my Christmas present this year.
