Journaling Reads: Having moved to California in 1980, my first opportunity to visit family in Connecticut was 1984. Mom & Bert came up from Alabama. We took loads of photographs, but for this particular one, it was mom and all four of her girls. Not knowing when the next time would be that we would all be together, I felt it was important to make this photo special, so before sitting on the couch I exclaimed we have to sit in order of appearance. Everyone had a big laugh at my terminology, having not said something like oldest to youngest. We laugh about it still.
