JOURNALING – Madison Chock and Evan Bates, the reigning U.S. National Champions in Ice Dancing, served notice on Thursday that they were planning to hold onto their title. Breaking the U.S. Championships record for the highest ever rhythm dance score, they received a standing ovation to their program featuring a medley by Queen. Two days later, both fighting flu-like symptoms, they skated to a second place finish with their medley of Pink Floyd music. However, their lead from Thursday was enough for them to win the gold by 5.88 points overall. They are set to defend their World Championship in Montreal in mid-March.

They have been the top US Ice Dance team for several years and it was FABULOUS to see them at the Nationals! He seemed a bit "off" in the long program and after learning they were both suffering from flu-like symptoms, what they accomplished is even more amazing. Wonderful pictures. I like the "heart" frames.
Fantastic use of the Feb template! That is awesome re the Nationals even with them sick... gosh I remember watching all the time when my Uncle did the music for ABC for the Nationals etc. He and my Aunt were Roller Skating champions too, winning the 1953's Silver Medal US National Champions in Dance... So I really connect with it, since he also did the music and was friends with all the skaters like Ty & Randy, Scott Hamilton etc. Fun memories your pages always bring up for me. Love your page! Thanks for playing along with the February Template Challenge! [Great glittery frames too!]
