It Is a yearly tradition for us to go as a family to the June Dairy Days Festival in West Salem, Wisconsin. Your mommy has gone since she was a wee little kid and now the tradition lives on with you. Every year in the beginning of June the West Salem community throws the festival in honor of all the dairy farmers they have in the community. There is a large parade full of floats and then a huge fair down at the fest grounds, with a petting zoo and of course tons of dairy products for sale! For years we have watched the parade with Great-grandma Duck and then walked down to the fest grounds to listen to live bands while we got one of the first ice cream cones of the festival from the Dairy tent ran by the American Legion that great-papa attends. Of course Papa always adds more ice cream to our cones cause we are special and even will do two different ice creams if we ask nicely! The ice cream always brings smiles to our faces! Of course, who can say no to ice cream? NOT us that is for sure… We eat our ice cream, pet some cows and maybe ride the rides before sharing a dinner of fest foods with Great-nana and papa before heading home for the night! It is always a blast and a tradition I hope you pass along to your kids also years from now!
