Journaling: Last summer I waited and waited for job interviews. I would get calls for interviews, and as I prepared myself to go in, my prayer was that I would feel validated as an educator. After each interview I felt really good, and boy oh boy, I WANTED EACH AND EVERY JOB. But after two days passed, I knew with each interview that I wasnt going to be teaching at that school. I had no idea what God was doing in all of this. I was definitely starting to doubt myself and my conviction that I was supposed to start my career in Roseburg. As the end of summer neared, I got really depressed about those jobs I didnt get. It seemed as if my life would fall neatly into place if I had gotten those jobs at the beginning of summer. I finally figured out why God had me go on those interviews. It was through one of those interviews that my new principal got my name as a last-minute recommendation for a last-minute hire. And thats how I became a 4th grade teacher and had the most amazing first year of teaching anyone could ask for.
Journaling around the edge (lyrics from "I have a dream" by Group One Crew): Been a long time coming/ we dreamin big/ I lived my life backwards/ so when it poured it rained/ but I got through the weather/ now I'm changing the game / dreamin' remains the source/ of everything we proclaim/ late nights all alone/ starting to feel confused/ I took a look at my life/ ain't got nothin to lose/ because I have a dream
