I had so much fun making, lighting and photographing this haunted house, made with Spooky Wooky by Paula Kesslering. It is a hybrid project, so I printed out the haunted house and other embellishment and made stands out of paper for the standing elements. I cut out the windows and added inked vellum so that the light could shine through. It is lit from within with flameless candles. It is lit with a black light (above) and another soft light in the front.
this is a thing of beauty is not the right word, like astounding accomplishment, as well as beauty, to me - how on earth is it supported? like are the two groups of people at the bottom of the stairs standing separately to the haunted house, or it's all one flat piece and your shadowing is both amazing and perfect in creating the illusion of depth and separation!? i want to turn this sideways and see all the dimensional foam and maybe popsicle sticks or whatever scaffolding is back there behind the vellum and candles!
@bellbird thank you! I’m actually planning to post a tutorial this weekend so you can see what holds it up (spoiler: nothing fancy, just little paper stands). The people are actually separate and can be moved. The rest of the embellishments - like the spider and bats- are glued directly on the house.
