When I was browsing through my pages of the last years recently, I was so smitten with the recollection of all these past events. I was reading my small snippets of journaling, marveled at the beautiful designs I played with and the photos that took me back to these beautiful moments. Scrapping is a wonderful medium for me to help me remember the special blinks of time, my emotions, my thought processes, my daily life. What started as a gift for my brother’s wedding evolved into a way of expressing my thoughts and feelings in a visual way. I never had a diary but scrapping comes as close as it gets for me. I can see how I evolved through the years, how change is inevitable and even if I wanted to hold on to my ways, I can’t. Right after I started making layouts I wanted to learn more about photography, I bought my first DSLR camera and took courses. Portrait photography was a passion for quite a while. I also took drawing and painting lessons and I still do. Through this medium I learned that I am a creative soul. It’s a wonderful way of discovering myself. Scrapping is my haven. I tried lots of other creative endeavors but scrapping just comes so naturally to me, that when I don’t know how to express myself, I always come back to it. And although I think I’m pretty senior in scrapping, there still is so much to learn, so much to express, so many kits to scrap in my stash. When I scrap about my loved ones, I reaffirm this love to myself and that sets off a sweet cycle of even more love for me to feel. Scrapping is my gift to myself, that keeps on giving.
