"When we were in St. Andrews, Scotland we were strolling through the streets and came upon this lovely bakery that makes all the pastry for the Queen. That small seal in their banner is the sign of the Appointment to HM the Queen. While we did not sample the pastries, we did peek in the window. (Just by looking I think I gained weight!] Later on after the walking tour when we had free time in St. Andrews, some of the people on the tour (Darren & Jackie) did stop to sample and bring some goodies back to the hotel to have with coffee later on! The Bakery is a 5th generation family bakery since 1919. It is based in Fife, Scotland. According to their website, they're up early every morning in their state of the art bakery making the public a huge range of traditional Scottish and continental treats. Priding themselves on quality, with a tasty range of products extending to over 400 delicious treats, they make and deliver the best in Scottish baking. From croissants and soft morning rolls to handmade Belgian chocolates and custom-made celebration cakes, there's a bake or cake for everyone's taste. The drive to perfect their craft is passed down from one generation to the next and their seal of approval from the Royal Family, proudly displayed in their bakeries, is confirmed (so they hear) by a certain very well known former St Andrews University couple.
