It is so interesting how the brain works. Sometimes I am internally motivated to Get Things Done. Sometimes I just want to drink wine or hot tea, read a book, crochet or watch silly movies.
Last night I did not want to cook dinner. I had a plan. I had the ingredients. I just spent all afternoon stalling. After hearing Noah claim he was starving for real food for the five hundredth time I finally cooked dinner. Skinnytaste Cajun Flounder and Basmati Rice. It was delicious and only took about twenty minutes from start to finish. Noah finished seconds and Hal ate the leftovers.
Why did I stall? Why did I not just go on and do it? What is it about my brain that just makes me want to nope it to nopeville and live there?
I told Hal after it was all cleaned up I didn't understand what the mental block was.
Today will be a lot easier. I have the plan. I have the ingredients. These recipes are not hard, they don't take too long and they are delicious when finished. So I will get my act together and just do it. I am going to cook Stuffed Pepper Soup for dinner. Maybe with homemade rolls.
I am so lucky that no one is picky around here. We have our favorites, but trying new things is never out of the question. And I am learning a little salt or a little sugar makes everything better.
I relate to this line like no other "What is it about my brain that just makes me want to nope it to nopeville and live there?" I get in big funks like that where I have so much I want to do & plan to do & just can't make myself motivated enough to start. Great layout!
