This is for We Are Storytellers Challenge Week3 Challenge6 Playing with Scale
Journaling Reads - I was relieved to get hearing checked and find out it wasn\'t all in my head. I did have hearing loss. but it made me feel old. I knew going in I would have to get hearing aids, That's ok. It will be really nice to actually be able to hear the TV without having to ask people to turn it up so loud they can\'t stand it. And I hate saying \'what\' all the time. It's really hard to have hearing loss. But it's also makes it hard to keep pretending I\'m not middle-aged when my hearing is going and I have RA, along with the generic aches and pains of growing older. I still feel young, not that I can figure out how teens and twenty year olds live today. Even some of my friends who are in their thirties speak a different language. And they definitely have a radically different lifestyle then when I was that age. Just the advances in technology alone creates a barrier, I don\'t even know how to work most of that stuff that they take for granted. Face it, Jo, you are middle-aged. Generation X is no longer young, twenty-somethings.. We are forty-somethings. And that's ok. you are only as old as you feel inside, right? i feel young inside. Outside is a different matter. Now you kids get off my lawn.

Having just turned 40... I can totally relate. LOVED the "get off my lawn" bit. My hubby and I say that to each other all the time. LOL!
