I created this layout for the October Template Challenge with a photo of a painting I found while walking between concourses at PDX. My father's mother was often said to love her johnnies so they remind me of her.
I had to look up Johnnies but should have read the comments here...we call them pansies too. And my grandmother loved them. She lived in Jasper which has a cool climate but the pansies loved it and grew so big and bloomed all summer. Love that you brought that memory to mind with your page, thank you! Love the colours you chose to scrap these and how you pulled in the black with the circle cutout paper. Gorgeous!

I followed your path to google and learned that Johnny Jump-Ups are actually edible and considered a wild pansy. They look similar except for the stem height and size. I'm glad Granny loved Johnnies since saying Granny loved her Pansies might sound a bit strange today. Thanks for sharing your memories of the flowers.
