It’s hard to write in just a few words, what a miracle
you have been. You were born early, had struggles
breathing and was put back in the hospital just 14
days later. You struggled for years with speech delay
and none of us could understand you, so I taught you
sign language so that we could communicate & it
worked! From there, you had years of private speech
therapy and you mastered it! You worked so hard!
You and I put in many hours at the kitchen table
working on this. It was amazing how hard you would
work for a cookie! We decided to give you a later
start in school to help you and then enrolled you in
a private school for first grade. Unfortunately, they
weren't able to help you with your "reading problem",
so we enrolled you in a public school. They were able
to diagnose you with speech delay, language processing
disorder and dyslexia. You were reading on a 2nd grade
level in 4th grade and we were so crushed. You pushed
yourself so hard in your special classes and they
released you early by mid year in 5th grade. They were
so astonished at your advancement! You went on to do
very well in high school and even took honors classes!
And HERE - HERE you graduated college with a
Business Administration degree. I cried. I cried for
different reasons than the other moms that day.
I cried at the miracle before my eyes as I saw the
little boy who has worked so hard for everything.
Good job kiddo! Hard work, character and the Lord
will take you everywhere! Love,
