First Milky Way

Description
I was worried that converting my photo to black and white for the color pop challenge would make it less impactful; instead, the galactic core really shines.

made with:
that is so awesome Brenda, and what a great photo. Did you take that with your Grandfather's camera? I love a great black and white and this is "dazzling" with the glittery gold. How cool to see the Milky Way :) Awesome page!!! TFS!!!

@cfile I did not. I am not brave enough to try photographing the Milky Way on film (yet). it can be done but it's not nearly as detailed and crisp as digital. this was one of the few times in my life where I've actually seen the Milky Way with my naked eye and my mom was equally awestruck next to me. it was worth waking up at 4 am for ;)

This was the view around 9 PM, when we were getting ready for bed: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/558376053810658219/ (I was sitting at the same picnic table for both shoots)

This one is slightly more breathtaking but was 7 months later: https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/finding-me-01-hobby-astrophotography.522123/
