The journaling is tough to read on-screen in the spiral, so here's what it says:
January 2016: Perhaps it’s because of the progress we’ve made within our blended family, but I’m finally past the mental block I’ve been battling since our engagement in 2007; I actually want to scrapbook again. To jump-start my creativity, I opted to participate in “Month of Challenges” at The Lilypad. Each day, they posted a new challenge, ranging from techniques to subject matter, journaling to style. Of the 31 challenges, I managed to complete 20 by the deadline of February 2nd. I didn’t earn the $20 store gift certificate for completing them all, but what I did get is priceless: renewed passion for this hobby of mine and an abundance of creative juices. (That kinda sounds messy, doesn't it? LOL!) I’m also rediscovering the joy of community. I haven't been a part of an online scrapbooking community since the early days of Two Peas in a Bucket, in 2000-2003. Engaging with others in the message boards and gallery at The Lilypad has reminded me how valuable it was for me to have a "village" of like-minded memory-keepers to chat with, bounce ideas off of, and give and receive praise for completed layouts. That interaction is part of what kept my motivation and momentum going. My word for 2016 is CULTIVATE, and I think this is a sign; The Lilypad might just be where I should cultivate my passion, my creativity, and my momentum in this memory-keeping, photo-taking, art-making way of life.
I.LOVE.THIS.SO.MUCH. Seriously. I love how you added all of your MOC pages on this one overview page and your journaling around the edges is wonderful. And honestly, the content of your journaling brings a tear to my eyes. We are SO GLAD that you found us, that you are getting your scrap mojo back, and most of all that you are feeling at home here.
This just makes me so happy to see that you've renewed your love of scrapping, and that TLP & MOC played a part in that! I hope the scrap feeling lasts, and that you continue to be a part of the TLP family! And aside from that, this page is awesome!
I have to agree with @jenevang - you totally brought tears to my eyes too. We're happy you've found a place to call your scrapping home again. <3 OK, now...let's talk about this AWESOME page!! I love that title work - it has just the perfect artsy flair...and all the layouts on pockets...swoon. Some seriously great memory keeping here!!
Congratulations on scrapping 20 pages! I only managed 17 so you did much better than me! I love how you have presented all your pages and I love your journaling! Thanks so much for sharing this little bit of you with us!!!
