We sat, you and I, in a little cafe a few streets away from the hospital. I took a photo like I always do.You drank a cappuccino and I drank a latte. We shared a cake and pretended to enjoy it. We ate and drank in stunned silence trying, both of us, to get our heads around it. You tried to find the right words and even though it was only yesterday, I can’t remember what you said. What I do know is that you didn’t try to minimise it. You didn’t try to make me feel better. Thank you.
