Chickens were one of our first purchases when we moved onto our tiny farm in Kentucky. They are fun, funny, easy to raise, and the eggs taste so good - better than store-bought! They’re also super practical. They eat huge quantities of bugs. They provide natural fertilizer for fresh veggies, herbs, and flowers. They are ferociously protective of children. Our big rooster loved Jason so much that he greeted the school bus each day and escorted him to the door. The rooster also challenged anyone he didn’t know and would get between them and Jason. Austin was huge - as big as any turkey we ever had - and when he puffed out his feathers and stood fully erect, he was as tall as me. No wonder people walked the other way! Ah, the little things you remember!
Awww how cool is that!! I love your journaling! What a great thing to chose for this challenge!! And I just love your page! Beautifully done! Thanks so much for playing along!
I love the pretty colors you used and your journaling. What a great story. I live in a place where we aren't allowed to have chickens in our yards, but I've always wanted them. So glad you enjoy yours. I love birds, ducks and chickens too.
