My favorite neighbor is a yellow-crested night heron. I love night herons and am so happy that there's one that likes to hang out right by our house.
Photos taken with a 500mm lens because this heron is a little skittish
Made with the Outdoor Adventures: Forest collab and Studio Essentials: Alpha 3 by Studio Liv
Template was included in the collab, although I stripped it down quite a bit to let that paper steal the show
Styles used are vellum, kraft, and shadow freebies from Mommyish
so i may be slightly jealous! super cool photo and neighbour - birds are far better neighbours than people to me! (we had a 'great heron' hang around during the covid lockdowns but we also have fish outdoors so DH wasn't keen on letting it hang around long term and learn it could get an easy lunch in our backyard and i never got a good photo of it sadly) - and yes the paper is an awesome fit for your page and your other mix of products is more than perfect too!
@bellbird I just saw this heron with a subadult so we have a family as neighbors! I'm even more excited than I was about seeing a roseate spoonbill by the 'lake' here.
We're the rebels of the neighborhood and have our backyard running wild so the wildlife come to visit. We've had a family of woodpeckers nesting in the tree in our backyard for 4(?) years now and a pair of doves who sit under the table next to our sliding glass door. My mom also claims I single-handedly brought back the dragonflies to the neighborhood, as well as the monarch butterflies. (That one I'll take credit for. We've bought A LOT of milkweed to sustain them.)
Wow Brenda, this is fabulous.. I never saw a yellow crowned night heron the entire time my parents lived in Florida.. I had to google to look closer at one! Fabulous shots you got and I love how you have scrapped the photos.. well done! Awesome page!
