There you are in the pumpkin path outside of Iowa City, doing the autumn stuff with your friends. When you texted me this picture I was at once struck by how gorgeous and happy you look. It does my mother’s heart good to see that you are clearly thriving during your freshman year of college and have already made friends with whom you can adventure and enjoy fall traditions. It's bittersweet too- the first pumpkin patch pic that Dad and I didn't take. Love you, pumpkin. (Oct 2016)
