When I first moved here (and even now) I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out what landform/landscape I live in. The best I can come up with is I'm at the most north-eastern portion of the Ozarks - often called the Ozark Mountains, Ozark Plateau, or Ozark Highlands. I guess I like the descriptors Plateau or Highlands as this region is full of steep hills (rather than tall, peaky mountains). Buried in the deep, old-growth forest full of White Oak, Red Oak, Shag Hickory, Dogwood + Redbud undergrowth, plus a scatting of Cottonwood and Sycamores along the many creeks, it is difficult to get a good landscape photo of this area that accurately "shows" just how hilly - and high - the hills are. It's best experienced, and I'm blessed to be here in this part of Old Earth. This photo was taken Fall of 2022. I've been back in Spring of 2023 to this very spot - but with my rambunctious pup Obi - making it nearly impossible to get a new shot (maybe today I will ).
What a fascinating place to live Lisa, like you I would be enthralled living within these beautiful steep hills! What a view! the coppers and reds of those trees straddling the hillside would be utterly amazing in real life to see I think! Love that you kept this photo big and that sky is stunning as well! Love how you have placed all or your beautifully chosen emebellishments and the quote you used is just perfect!!
This photo is stunning! I love the rich autumn colours and crisp clear sky. You can almost smell the forest-y breeze as you look at it. Fabulous page, loving the great word art too, perfection!
