I'm not great at making foundation *pages* because I tend to document stories as they unfold. But I love to have "nights of Hanukkah" cards with the menorahs lit and ready to go so I can just drop them in. I have a 6x8 album (whole page protectors) and most of my pages are either all 3x4s or two 3x4s and one 4x6. So making my cards 3x4 just makes sense.
I kept it super simple this year: Eight Nights of Hanukkah bundle by Kim Jensen. The same felt menorah every night. A word strip with which night it is at the bottom. There will be a number for the date somewhere on the actual pages, a photo of us lighting the menorah, and possibly some journaling. (Last year, I tended to have a "night of Hanukkah page" next to a daytime story for the same date.)
This is my third year of making a special December album and this may be my favorite set of menorah cards I've used. (I've always done the 'one more light each night' but this year's is the most refined. Last year's was glitter that didn't look overly realistic.) I may have to keep these around and use them again next year.
