This was a good day. a preemie baby isn’t for the faint of heart. Or rather it creates a strength that didn’t exist before. Especially if it’s your first baby, it’s hard. Today we got the good news from the home health nurse that Alanna has developmentally caught up and no longer has an adjusted developmental age. Things could have been so much worse, but it was still one of the hardest things we’d been through, at the time. Knowing that she had caught up and was going to be fine was a huge relief and brought huge smiles to our faces. Little did we know that she would go on to be a straight “A” student attending concurrent enrollment classes in high school through the local university. Yes, this was a good day.
