@trekmom, thank you. Yes, you are right; it is a bittersweet situation. But, one must go on, and thankfully, over the (almost) three years since he's been gone, I have grown stronger and more at peace. I do appreciate your condolences.
i can't imagine how much work you are doing here in terms of sorting and decluttering and all that with those memories of your husband in this space also but i hope as well as a jolly big physical workout it gives you a place to be happy and scrappy in for many years to come! love the rainbow stripe and 'before' durings too!
@bellbird, thank you so much for comments. You are right on point with the amount of work as well as the grief that wells up while I am in that space. The walls were covered with my husband's awards, certificates, posters, etc., until my wonderful grandsons visited one day and helped me remove them. That made a tremendous difference in the feel of the room. I didn't mean to go on and on like that, but your words brought back that memory.
