Info needed to understand journaling; My sister lives in NYC. Dani is 17. I am not ok.
"Today I dropped Dani off at Gardermoen. He is traveling to New York City all by himself. Aunt Rhi and Elton have invited him to visit with everything included. Flight ticket, accommodation and food. I think it will be a fantastic experience for him and I am looking forward to it on his behalf. He is so eager to travel and loves to experience new things! It will be absolutely perfect. But it hit me so hard when I dropped him off at the security checkpoint. He will soon be an adult. Soon we may only see each other once a month for Sunday dinner. I can't believe that his childhood is actually over. Maybe he is moving far away? Is he really ready? Have I prepared him well enough for life? Has he had enough good experiences in his life so far? I am not ready for this... I had to shed a few tears in the car home, and again now as I write this. Dani, you are awesome."
What a fantastic travel page! He'll have a great trip and you'll hear all about it when he returns. It's hard to loosen the reins but it sounds like he'll be in good hands, with family.
This deserves a Froggie Fave! Great photos, heartfelt journaling!
