journaling
Do you remember what year you started taekwondo?
Alexandre: That's old, Mum! I was in first grade (count on her fingers), it was in September 2015!
Me: Yes, that's right, in September 2015 and your little brother was coming back in the first grade.
Do you remember the first classes?
Alexandre: It was Saturday morning with Ahmet. There were a lot of us in the group and we didn't have a dobok yet.
Me: I remember that indeed you were quite numerous. Parents would go on the mat to help. I didn't go often because I didn't know anything about how to hold a snowshoe.
What kind of exercises did you do?
Alexandre: We used to do ladders on the ground and kicks. While waiting for my turn, I practiced because I was a beginner and the others had already done it.
Me: I remember. You were revising your movement and were well concentrated.
How did you evolve?
Alexandre: I don't remember when, but at one point my schedule changed and I used to go in the evenings after school. You bought me a dobok. And it was Ali who gave the lessons.
Me: Around November, after the holidays, the groups were changed according to age. It became more technical.
Alexandre: Yes, I started to learn the poumsés (stars in the eyes). The poupés, it's to pass the belts. With my dobok, I got a white belt. Ali spent a lot of time at the beginning to teach us about the poupés. We had to know the movements of the arms, then the diagram and finally do everything. In order to get the yellow belt, Ali asked us to do the first six movements of the first lung and some kicks. If I'm not mistaken, I got my yellow belt in December (look at the little cup in her room).
Me: (laughs) That's right. And since we've come so far...
Fabulous take on this challenge.
I love how you crated it to your normal size, love the journaling and then the photos escaping off to the right.
Well done.
