journaling: Poor James. This was the first fishing trip in many months because of covid lockdowns and he was so excited to go fishing on the Saginaw River for walleye. He and Dennis went together and had a slow first day, then near the end of the day, James’ boat motor died. Nothing they did worked and they couldn’t get it going again. James was ready to just come home, but they had already paid for the AirBnB house for the long weekend and Dennis didn’t want to come home. I’m glad they stayed though. James would have been a bear all weekend. They ended up being able to fish near the boat launch using his electric motor, but he still came home with a broken motor that ended up costing up $1k to fix. Eek! Not a good trip.
