To recharge and renew, I need to be left anole to do whatever it is I need to do. Very often, it is the mundane tasks that bring me peace – cleaning the kitchen reminds me that this is my home, while loading the dishwasher helps me remember I am not alone and that I have a family that I chose to build. I rarely feel the need to get away from it all, perhaps because I spend a lot of time on my own. I love ticking items off my to-do list because it fills me with a sense of purpose. I love reading parenting books because it helps me put things in perspective. I love scrapping our family life because it allows me to relive those moments I thought were worth documenting at the time. And I love browsing recipe blogs because variety is the spice of life. In other words, to renew and recharge I need a little refresher from that quiet voice inside my head that I am living the life I chose and I should trust myself to have made the right choice.
