The story of how my user name came out of my days of being a hot tea snob before I discovered the joy that is COFFEE!
JOURNALING:
<INSERT WHIRLING TIME MACHINE SOUND>
It’s 1997, and I hate coffee. I detest the stuff and won’t drink it (it will be years in the future before it becomes my daily necessity). For now, I’m completely addicted to hot tea and am an affirmed tea snob. This means:
1) Tea must be full, loose leaves and NOT from a tea bag.
2) Tea must be brewed in a tea pot.
3) Tea must be brewed with water heated to the appropriate temperature and for the correct length of time for the variety being consumed.
4) Once properly brewed, the tea may only be consumed from bone china; usually a cup and saucer from one of my Royal Albert collections.
The only exception I made was for “The London Cuppa,” which was an Assam-based tea bag the manufacturer claimed was formulated for City of London water. While that made no difference to me since I lived in Texas, I still thought that it was a fantastic tea. It also made for a very good Online user name: londoncuppa
Fast forward many years...I’ve become a coffee addict and don’t drink hot tea very often, but I still love this tea. Unfortunately, it’s very hard to get since the manufacturer doesn’t ship outside of the UK. Luck just has to smile on me.
