These patterns and papers together look amazing. They are almost the same green as the grass. Is it fake (the grass)?

@Dalis no it's real grass. It has to be kept to a set length and the green is gently curved with a "crown" in the middle. It takes some looking after.

@cookingmylife the park only reopened a few weeks before. Everything had been closed for Lockdown. There were still a lot of social distancing rules in place, making the park a lot emptier than normal. Not many people play crown green though, so the green is usually empty whenever we go to play. The council ran a free families training course for crown green last summer to promote the old sport and we benefitted from it.

Very cute photos and lovely page. Bowls is still big here in NZ (though less so as very much an age thing ...). Every suburb would have a bowling club. The one down the road from our house was turned into a local cafe and community centre, and others are sold off for housing developments but lots still exist. And every retirement village has a bowling green - we have fun at my parents' when we visit :-)

I'm not familiar with the sport, but it looks like fun. And getting the children outdoors during the pandemic is a win. Lovely page.
