@bellbird Thank you Justine.. I googled and came up with a William Sonoma recipe, however Kate Hadfied also gave me links to this and other British "pudding" recipes. Love UK food EXCEPT MARMITE!!! LOL .. I am thrilled as I have been able to buy the brown sauce (HP sauce) here at my local market in the international section Thank you too re the yellow papers.. I am not usually a "yellow" scrapper but the colors all woked
i'm sure Kate is a good resource for your recipes! i'm with you on the marmite - even our 'traditional' vegemite i can only handle in small doses with lots of margarine on toast- i don't know that i've ever had HP sauce - is it like worcestershire? they do sell it in the 'sauce' section here but there's only so much room in the fridge! (we have about 4 kinds of mustard and 3 kinds of jam (US jelly) at any one time to suit recipes and fussy people that can't agree - i know why fridges keep getting bigger!)
@bellbird Justine- brown sauce is sort of a mixture of Ketchup and Worchesteshire .. the brown sauce in the UK is used for everything! I think there is also a fruit version but I like the HP.
