Journaling reads:
Cold, huge seas, an absolutely freezing wind and I loved every minute of my first visit to the most western point
of Tasmania, Arthur River. There is something very powerful and thrilling about watching the ocean when it is rough and
running high like that. Excerpt from Wikipedia “Gardiner Point (where this photo is taken from) lies just to the south of Arthur
River, and has called itself The Edge of the World because, apart from its isolation, it is further south than Cape Agulus
(the southernmost point of Africa) and therefore the waves breaking on the shore have come uninterrupted all the way
across the Great Southern Ocean from Argentina.”
There is also a plaque here with a poem written by a Brian Inder which speaks to the soul, the words are shown at the top
of the layout. I didn’t get to cast my pebble onto the shore as it started to rain but I hope to come back to this wild and
fascinating spot to do just that in the near future!

The Edge of the World (North West Tasmania)
I cast my pebble onto the shore of Eternity,
To be washed by the Ocean of Time.
It has shape, form and substance,
It is me.
One day I will be no more,
But my pebble will remain here,
On the shore of Eternity.
Mute witness for the aeons,
That today I came and stood,
At the edge of the world.
