Description
[GRATITUDE] FRIENDS

For 30 Days of Gratitude, an art journaling challenge at The Lilypad.

I am intrigued by how difficult it is to find a male “art doll”. I haven’t used art dolls much, but over the years I’ve bought many kits, and have hundreds of female art dolls. Hundreds.

But only a bit over a dozen male art dolls. Do designers and scrapbookers have few men in their lives? And are those men, as are many art dolls in my files, mostly silhouettes, with no distinguishing features? Or perhaps they are vintage men, in suits and mustaches? Or naked, but statues?

I do not understand.

These women are from Courtney’s Design (3 Amigas). Other elements from Sissy Sparrows (M3); Nanci Rowe Janitz (M3_Aug16 & M3_July16); Lynne-Marie (ArtsyBits08, M3_April15, M3_July16, & M3_Sept16); Little Butterfly Wings (M3_May15 & M3_April16); Spinky Dink Scraps (Still Standing); and Hero Arts (Individual).

Your point about the male art dolls is an interesting one. I hadn't even thought about it. For some reason, the silhouette to me, feels kind of ominous. :giggle I like vintage men, but I think maybe you have a new calling. Creating male art dolls... or maybe that can be a new AJ challenge for the future!

This is a great page. Great quote you highlighted. And I like the combo of colors and text.

I don't really AJ (but want to start/try!) ... but this is indeed a good point Sharon. Maybe bring that up in the AJ forum ... and the designers may heed your request? This is adorable by the way!
