I've had this photo framed since the 90s and I knew I wanted to scrap it when I saw this challenge!
While working for Senator Mikulski, some of us decided to go white water rafting on the Cheat River in West Virginia. I had never done this and was decidedly older than most of my fellow rafters. But we were all ‘Bammers’, capable of handling any and every thing! I paid close attention to our guide’s instructions and the most dangerous thing possible seemed to be falling out of the raft and getting caught under a rock. I was determined not to fall out come hell or high water. I had my legs jammed so tight under the seats that my danger was breaking a leg. I didn’t fall out OR break a leg and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I actually did this on three more occasions and then decided that I’d tested myself enough.
Did this take my breath away? I don’t know but I sure used a lot of breath with our adrenaline screaming!
