"A question that I often get, “What do you do?”. For a long time, there would be a hesitation as I responded stay at home mom or homemaker. And then usually the other person would quickly move onto the next topic, as if my answer made them uncomfortable. I have grown into this roll (and am still growing into it). I am blessed that I was taught to cook, preserve food, sew, and other great skills as I was growing up. But I have also had to learn many more skills as I have managed our home. I love that I have learned new skills and can put them into use to make our home a nice place for my family. I get a great deal of joy from watching my family and friends enjoy food or goodies that I have made for them. I love seeing my little ones cuddle up with or wear something I have sewn for them. I even find joy in the maintenance of our home, learning new skills and keeping it a nice for us. I also love that I am able to pass these skills onto my children. To teach them how to take pride in the work that they do. No matter what kind of work it is."
