JOURNALING: LUCKY. But I didn't think so that horrible April, 2009 when my job world came crashing down around me. Changes were being implemented which would dramatically reduce the ability of my co-workers to effectively and efficiently do their jobs. Although I was told I would not be effected by these changes, I repeatedly warned that the plan WOULD NOT WORK. Then, at the last minute, in a general emailing, I was included in the group to be effected by the changes. This job had been something I absolutely LOVED doing. Retirement never crossed my mind. But, now, I LUCKILY realized, it was my only option. The timing could not have been better. I had enough time in to receive a NICE pension and the company was offering a buy-out that added to that.
Six months later, I realized even more how LUCKY I was. My "perfect" Shih Tzu passed away Thanksgiving week. Because I was not working, I was able to be with her when she crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
And, just two weeks after that, the most amazing pup came into my life when I purchased a "Crested Yorkie" which had been rescued from an Amish puppy mill. I love the terrier personality, but they can be quite the handful. I'd never have been able to "take her on" had I not been retired. LUCKY!

First, your page design is so creative! Great contrast between the dark on top + the rainbow on the bottom. Second, how wonderful that you found something positive in such a negative experience!
This is such a wonderful and positive story. I love the two pictures you have to illustrate what you thought was horrible and it turned out to be a blessing.
I love that you included the rainbow photo with the emphasis of the part of the story on the happy ending. I hope you are loving your little puppy and enjoying retirement!
I love the split to your page - the darkness one side and the bright rainbow the other! Thank you for sharing your journaling and I think Lucky is a great positive word to describe you. Sometimes when things go wrong it takes a little hard work to see that there is good to be found and you found it, you are indeed lucky!
