At my son's school, all the year 7's have to complete a winter project, taking at least 30 hours. They are quite happy for parents to help as well. Lots of dog kennels this year. My son (and I!!!) made The Parthenon. Glad it's done.

Wow!  That is an amazing project!  I love it!  And I can totaly sympathize with being glad it's done.  Our school did a science fair last year and it was a lot of work for the parents too!
