The magician is my father-in-law and the "assistant" is our little cousin. I\'ve scrapped a few instances of Jim doing magic shows for my kids\' birthdays, but this time I was able to focus on Jim and the kids\' reactions.
Journaling:
I’ve seen Jim do his show dozens of times. Every time I am amused by the way the kids always have the same reactions. I don’t think Donovan had ever seen the show when Jim did it for Theodore & Eva’s third birthday while they were here for Baxter’s Bar Mitzvah. I was hoping to capture his shock when the wand collapses, and I wasn’t disappointed! It was especially funny because Donovan is the kind of kid who calls out, “I know how you did that!” He didn’t.
