This used to happen with my son Connor. I learned two things. 1) He talks and cries in his sleep and it's usually better not to wake him. 2) When he cried in his sleep, it often was a sign that he needed to go potty. I suspect he will start sleep walking when he is older. My brother used to do the same thing.

Oh wow Krista! Another masterpiece!! Poor little pumpkin I still talk in my sleep!! My Mother was sooo bad as a child, once she got herself out on the roof of the house! Can you imagine?!?
