Thank you. It was a bit of a challenge to fit the date, title & a few words of story into four short lines of the template. I could have modified it but I saw it as worth trying; I'm usually writing paragraphs.
I've tried for years to regularly review my photos . For this project I use the photos app on my iPhone or iPad. Previously, I'd choose a year, or a month and always found a day or a week that I couldn't keep going for one reason or another. Now I search for the current date, say January 11. Usually, I find between 75 and 275 photos. I set a timer for a minimum of 15 minutes. I delete any junk or irrelevant screenshots, correct metadata and mark the best photos. Yesterday, I found photos from the first trip I made to move my mother into memory care. They reminded me of the despair I felt at that time. With my previous approach, I would have been discouraged to continue, knowing that the next 21 days of that trip and the other 4-6 trips I made that year would be more of the same. With this new approach, I was soon looking at photos without any despair. Today there wasn't any at all. Tomorrow, there might be some, but not so much that I can't make it through 15 minutes!
The other benefit is identifying random photos that I want to scrap. I put them in a specific folder and have been using them liberally for MOC13.
I'm also part of an accountability group of about ten scrapbookers who are all doing similar work. Every day, the first person to complete their goal sends a message to our group text with the current date and a check emoji. As we each complete our process, we like that text which encourages everyone.
I hope you find something useful to your process in this description.
That's so cool and what a great project!! I seriously need to take on something like this! Beautifully done! Thanks so much for playing along with my challenge
