========================= journaling:
Growing up the only way I have ever eaten Tuna was the SOLID White tuna in water, out of a can. It could only be made into Tuna salad for a sandwich or for a regular garden salad and an accompaniment. (In Home Ec. we made the obligatory “Tuna Casserole” with the crumbled potato chips on top, and because it was hot canned tuna, I just could not eat it.) - I think I got that from my Dad as he too, could not eat tuna any other way than on a sandwich. Also I am VERY picky and normally will not order Tuna Salad when we are out as I only like solid white in water, and a lot of times the restaurants use the dark tuna and that makes me think of cat food as it really has a pungent odor.
Moving on... One day I was out with my hubby with his office at an A.J. Gators Pub/Bar, and they had a bunch of hors d'oeuvres. One of the girls had me try one of them, and I had no idea what I was trying. I was like oh this is delicious... tastes like beef! She told me, it is Ahi Blackened Tuna... I said NO WAY! It tastes like beef! Yup that was what it was, and I was now hooked!
Now for the past 15 years, hubby makes me blackened Tuna with grilled asparagus & red peppers. It is so yummy! Now besides canned solid white Tuna in water, I will eat grilled and blackened Ahi Tuna. A monster was created that day at the Bar/Pub!!!
Oh wow Christa this is such a fun topic and page! I love that you even have a photo of your new favorite! It's hard to change the mind about food beliefs too. I love your border and element use! Thanks for taking the challenge
